Teen Political Forum – Thursday, April 5

Ask questions and get answers from city and county elected officials. Open to local high school students, the event is held at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, 2855 Coral Springs Dr. from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Students will be enlightened about the personal experiences of elected officials who will address teen issues of interest, concluding with a Q & A from the student audience. The event is open to all high school students who live in Coral Springs or who attend Coral Springs High, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, Coral Glades High, Coral Springs Charter, J. P. Taravella High and Coral Springs Christian Academy. Students who are home-schooled or attend private schools and live in Coral Springs are also welcome. For more info call 954-344-1005.

Parkland Farmers Market – Sundays, April 8 & 22

From 9 AM to 1 PM, join Friends and neighbors at the Equestrian Center at Temple Park, 8350 Ranch Rd., for the continuation of the biggest outdoor Farmers’ Market in Broward County to shop your favorite fresh and local vendors. Customers will be able to purchase items such as fresh and organic vegetables, fruits, herbs, beautiful flowers, breads, pastries and other baked goods. We also feature a variety of gourmet foods such as jam, honey, dips, sauces, fresh pasta, cheese, and pickles. Our market is dog friendly, so don’t forget to visit our pet vendors. WorldFest 2018 – Sunday, April 8

Bring your family and friends to the Sportsplex, 2575 Sportsplex Drive, Coral Springs, and celebrate the diverse cultures that make up our community! The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature ethnic foods, live entertainment, arts and crafts and fun activities for children. Come and enjoy non-stop stage entertainment and Culture Village, while keeping children busy at Kid’s World which offers a multitude of activities for the young ones. There will also be a Cooking Demonstration with samples of delicious ethnic food items. Admission to the event is free, although there is a $3 fee for parking. Taste of Coral Springs – Tuesday April 10

The Taste of Coral Springs is a sampling of food, fine wines, and premium spirits available in South Florida. All proceeds benefit local children’s charities. Each year, the Taste lights up the night at the Coral Springs Center for the Arts as you and more than 850 of your closest friends sample delectable foods from local restaurants and wine and spirits from vendors and distributors, all of which is included in the admission price. Don’t miss your chance to spend a spectacular evening under the stars with fabulous themed entertainment and bid on exciting silent auction items. Previous Taste of Coral Springs events have contributed more than $455,000 to worthwhile charities. This is a 21+ event. April Pool’s Day – Sunday, April 15

Join us from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cypress Pool, 1500 Coral Springs Dr., Coral Springs. There will be pool fun, music, and an entertaining and educational experience as you participate in water safety activities, watch real-time scenarios and demonstrations, and learn about resources available to help make your home water-safe. The event is free, but food items will be available for purchase.

EarthFest – Saturday, April 21

To celebrate Earth Day, the City of Coral Springs will be hosting EarthFest at Sawgrass Nature Center & Wildlife Hospital, 3000 Sportsplex Dr., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. EarthFest features wildlife exhibits, guided tours, plant giveaways, children’s activities and refreshments. Florida Family Safety Fest – Saturday,  April 21

The Florida Family Safety Fest event will have something for the entire family. There will be food vendors, children’s activities, bounce houses, SWAT and K-9 demonstrations by the police departments, extrication demonstrations by local fire departments, equipment displays from police, fire and other agencies and much, much more.
