Coral Springs Worldfest 2013

Colorful, aromatic and full of musical variety, Coral Springs’ annual Worldfest was a festive celebration of cultures from every corner of the world. Latin dancers, hip-hop performances, dance demonstrations with crowd participation and a feast of sumptuous  delicacies from all over the world including churros, frozen lemonade, ribs, shishkabobs and so much more had families enjoying the sights, sounds and mixed palette of delicious flavors. Toddlers danced on wobbly sea legs while elderly folks proudly wore traditional garb representing their heritage. Kids played and giggled, mouths painted with colorful sauces and cotton candy blue.

The overcast day did not dampen spirits or make the variety of colors and costumes any less vibrant. In traditional Coral Springs style, the event was a big hit with families enjoying every aspect of this beautiful annual festival that celebrates the community and its variety of cultures. Commissioner Tom Powers said “It’s another opportunity for Coral Springs to showcase the fact that it is so rich in diversity and why it’s such a great city.”

Always a time of celebration and appreciation, Worldfest reminds us that it really is a small, small, small, small world!
