Do you know you can wear contacts, and bifocal contacts after 40?
Bifocal and multifocal contact lenses are designed to give you good vision when you reach your 40’s. Beginning at this age, you may need to hold reading material – like a menu or newspaper, farther from your eyes to see it clearly. This condition is called “presbyopia.”
Bifocal contacts lenses have two powers. One power for seeing clearly at a distance, and another power for seeing clearly up close. Multifocal contact lenses, like progressive eyeglass lenses, have a range of powers for seeing clearly far away, up close and everywhere in between.
Do you know what the healthiest contacts are to use?
Daily disposable contacts are the most healthy to use on the market now. Patients are more compliant resulting in less eye infections. We also see less allergic problems with these contacts do to limited use of solutions and newer fresher lenses being used. These lenses typically solve many patients contact lens related problems. Next time you get a contact lens exam inquire about one day disposable contacts.
