For the Richard family, weekends often mean ballfields, family time, and a strong sense of community. Whether coaching, cheering, or just spending time outdoors, Ryan and Michelle have built a life full of activity, love, and local pride.
Ryan, a Mechanical Engineer and Director of Operations for SEES Inc., moved to Coral Springs in 1989. Michelle is a busy professional, and owns Michelle Richard Photography. Together, they have raised their two sons—Dominic, 14, and Duke, 12, in their Coral Springs community since 2011.
Both boys attend Ramblewood Middle School and are deeply involved in sports. Dominic, an 8th grader, just completed his final season with the school’s baseball team and will head to St. Thomas Aquinas in the fall. He also plays volleyball and flag football, and his favorite subject is World History. Duke, in 6th grade, enjoys math and is equally busy with baseball and just wrapped up a flag football season.
The family’s weekends revolve around sports, especially Coral Springs American Little League, where Ryan has coached for over six years and serves as a board member. Ryan advises, “Never allow the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.” Michelle supports both the school and league, helping whenever she can. “We’re usually on a baseball field most weekends,” she says, “but we make time for fishing, family trips, and Ryan’s car projects.”
When they’re not at a game, the family enjoys working on Ryan’s vintage Mustang, fishing, or taking spontaneous trips. “I love teaching the boys about cars,” Ryan shares. “It’s a great way to bond and pass down practical skills.”
Michelle’s photography business keeps her busy, capturing family moments and local events across Coral Springs. “It’s been rewarding to run a business in the same community where we’re raising our family,” she says.
The Richards share their lives with three beloved pets— their horse, Buster, Codie, a Boxer, and Charlee, their German Shepherd. “It’s a full house,” Michelle laughs, “but full of life.”
Over the years, Ryan has enjoyed watching Coral Springs evolve. “The city has grown in all the right ways,” he says. “There are more family-friendly activities, new restaurants, and a great city league sports program. We’re especially thankful for the Coral Springs Police Department and the safety they provide.”
With Father’s Day around the corner, Ryan is looking forward to one simple gift: “Sleeping in, then spending the day with my family.”
For the Richards, life is all about balance—between sports and school, work and play, and time spent together. Their journey is a testament to staying grounded while embracing every opportunity to grow, connect, and enjoy the ride.
