Wylie and David have created a family life rooted in connection, curiosity, and a shared appreciation for the outdoors, with a home dynamic that feels especially shaped by the close bond between their two sons. Wylie, who was raised in this area, brings a sense of familiarity and local pride into their day-to-day life, while together they shape an environment that feels both grounded and adventurous for River, 3 1/2, and Caspian, 1.
Their home is filled with energy, laughter, and constant interaction, much of it driven by the boys’ relationship. River and Caspian are deeply connected, often playing side by side in ways that are both spirited and tender. They are expressive children, quick to show excitement, affection, and even frustration, moving fluidly through big emotions as they learn from one another. Whether they are chasing each other through the house, inventing games, or simply sitting together, there is a clear sense that they are not just siblings but companions. Their dogs, Onyx and Olive, add to the lively atmosphere and are fully woven into the family rhythm.
David works as an environmental specialist and is currently pursuing a degree in civil engineering, reflecting a deep interest in sustainability and the infrastructure that supports growing communities. Wylie channels her creativity through her picnic event business, designing beautiful beachside gatherings, as well as through her photography. Both of their professional paths reflect a shared value of meaningful, experience-driven work.
As parents, Wylie and David take a thoughtful and flexible approach. Their children are currently homeschooled, allowing learning to happen organically through everyday experiences. Much of that learning unfolds through the boys’ interactions with each other, as they navigate sharing, communication, and emotional expression in real time. At this stage, their parents prioritize exposure to the world, encouraging curiosity, adaptability, and connection.
Time together as a family is centered around simple, intentional activities. They enjoy hiking, spending time at the beach, and taking road trips, often blending adventure with routine. These outings become opportunities not just for exploration, but for the boys to experience the world together, reacting, discovering, and expressing themselves freely. Being outdoors offers both freedom and connection, something they value deeply.
They also appreciate the abundance of green spaces and the overall family-friendly feel of the surrounding communities, which supports the kind of engaged, connected lifestyle they prioritize.
For Wylie, motherhood has been both joyful and transformative. She shares that it gives her a fresh and fun perspective on life, continually encouraging her to step outside of her comfort zone. This Mother’s Day, she is most looking forward to simply being together, enjoying the quality time that defines their family.
The family occasionally attends Unity of Naples, embracing community in a way that feels natural and unforced.
Wylie captures their parenting philosophy best: “Parenthood is more fun when you integrate it into your life in a way that is family focused, not just child focused. We take the kids to do everything with us and it helps them adapt to different situations that aren’t always catered to children and yet they still always have a great time, while teaching us to find the joy in every situation.”to find the joy in every situation.”
