Springs Soccer Club’s Growth Fueled by Recent Wins and Expanding Programs

By Ashley Ferraro

Springs Soccer Club, Coral Springs’ premier travel soccer program, is celebrating a series of recent accomplishments that highlight its growing reputation for excellence in youth soccer. The club’s success is not just a testament to the talent of its players but also reflects the community’s increasing support and the organization’s commitment to developing serious athletes.

The boys’ Elite teams have made a remarkable entry into the Elite Clubs National League Regional (ECNLR) after being promoted from the National Premier League (NPL) this year. Competing at this higher level provides players with enhanced exposure and a clear pathway to college opportunities. In their inaugural ECNLR matches in Tampa, the boys faced strong opponents like Florida Premier and Florida West. They emerged with an impressive record: two wins and three draws on the first day, followed by five wins and one draw on the second.

The girls are celebrating massive successes as well. The U13 girls team, coached by Laurie Thomas, the club’s Executive Director, showcased their talent by winning their preseason tournament in Orlando. They triumphed over a strong Panama team and other very competitive clubs, winning all three of their matches. Currently competing in the NPL, the girls are on track to rise to even higher levels of competition.

Highlighting the club’s dedication to nurturing talent, players Moises Goldner, Sebastian Benitez, Cameron Williams, and Jahmar Wright have been called up to the US Soccer Training Center. This prestigious program identifies promising young players for regional and national opportunities.

The club’s rapid growth from approximately 36 teams last year to 43 teams this year reflects the deep trust and commitment of the Coral Springs community. With about 85% of the players being local residents and attending school in the city, this strong connection to the community fosters a sense of pride and dedication, reinforcing the club’s culture and passion for developing young athletes close to home. The SSC home field is located at Cypress Park, but with its growth, teams also train at North Community Park.

SSC places a strong emphasis on the development of female players. Recently, they hosted a clinic led by the women’s professional team Fort Lauderdale United for over 100 girls. Beyond providing this valuable experience, the club also prides itself on having a dedicated female coaching staff, reinforcing their commitment to empowering young female athletes and strengthening the presence of women in soccer.

The success of the club is bolstered by support from the City of Coral Springs, including Parks and Recreation and city commissioners. In addition to keeping close ties to the community, the club also focuses on creating an excellent game-day environment, ensuring the players, parents, and visiting teams can enjoy a comfortable and positive atmosphere.

SSC is expanding its staff to support greater development opportunities. With programs for boys and girls starting at 5 years old, like the First Touch and Advanced Development Program (ADP) which are in full swing and with competitive team spots still available, now is an excellent time for interested youth to get involved with SSC. Upcoming events include holiday camps and specialized clinics focusing on skills development, speed, and agility training from October through December. Field players and goalkeepers interested in joining a competitive team can register online for a free evaluation.
