Brenton and Tania settled their family in Coral Springs five years ago because, Brenton tells us, “Just like the sign says as you enter the City limits, ‘Everything under the Sun.’ It’s home for us and we love the family atmosphere and a sense of belonging. Our neighborhood is pretty diverse.”
Tania and Brenton’s three children are daughters Brittany, 24, Aniyah, 4, and son Calvin Desir, who passed at the age of 16. With a positive effect joined with an encouraging demeanor, Brenton tells us, “Since the passing of our son March 23, 2019, I’ve been an active member of the (MWNA) Mental Wellness Networking Alliance started by Mayor Scott Brook. I’ve done and continue to do as many public speaking engagements on mental health and particularly
suicide prevention as it relates to young people. My wife Tania is my greatest supporter!”
Mom and Dad both have successful careers in healthcare. Tania is a Registered Nurse and Brenton is a Human Resources Professional.
Busy with classes at Broward College, Brittany enjoys going out with her friends while attending school and working at Coral Springs Medical Center in the Emergency Room as a Patient Access Specialist. A fun and adorable four-year-old, Aniyah simply enjoys everything! She likes playing in her trampoline and swimming in the pool as well as her swimming lessons at Coral Springs Aquatic Center. Aniyah will be attending VPK in August at Church by the Glades. The family has fond memories of Calvin enjoying playing basketball and riding his bicycle. He was a student at Douglas high school. Brenton says, “Calvin also enjoyed diving into anything that he could take apart and fix. He was our home engineer.”
The Fort Lauderdale Chapter of KAPPA ALPHA PSI Fraternity has created an annual scholarship in Calvin’s honor to benefit a student with engineering academic aspirations. KAPPA LEAGUE is a mentorship program for young men organized and facilitated by the Fraternity.
Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Wrights enjoyed dining out. Brenton says, “We’ve been very supportive of restaurants in our own city of Coral Springs. We love our home, so we spend a quiet time enjoying each other. We generally eat dinner together every night.”
Their daughters are beautiful representations of this family’s beliefs. Brittany tells us, “Family is where life begins and love never ends.” Aniyah, In her sweet, infinite four-year-old wisdom says, “I love my dad, mom, sister and my brother. Everybody is in my heart!”
A Christian family with strong faith, Brenton tells us, “Our faith has continued to guide us daily.“ The Wrights attend ARK Restoration Church International.
