Parkland Little League Welcomes Neighboring Cities for 2025 Season

Parkland Little League, a cornerstone of the Parkland community for more than three decades, is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2025 while, for the first time ever, opening its program to players ages 4 to 7 from neighboring cities, including Boca Raton, Coconut Creek, and Coral Springs.
Since its inception in 1990, Parkland Little League has been a community staple for Parkland residents, inspiring teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong memories for young athletes and their families who reside in the city. Now, the league, which traditionally sees more than 500 players and 130 coaches every season, is primed for growth with the addition of this new expansion. In fact, league President Rob Travinski, who has been involved since 2011 and served as president since 2016, feels that this could be the Parkland Little League’s biggest year yet.
“Now you don’t need to be a Parkland resident to come play in a fun, competitive and – most importantly – developmental environment,” Travinski said. “It’s great news for families because siblings can play in the league too, making this a perfect opportunity to share memorable baseball moments as a family.”
The league’s history is packed with achievements, especially over the past decade. The 13U team was crowned Southeast Champions in 2016 and made an appearance at the Little League World Series that year. In 2019, the 13U team competed at the Florida State Championships, earning the runner up spot. This was followed by multiple state championship appearances by the 11U and 12U teams, and the 14U team’s never-before-achieved District and Sectional victories in 2024.
In addition to developing top-notch baseball players, Travinski and the entire Board of Directors are focused on evolving the players beyond the field.
Teens who have grown out of the league are encouraged stay involved by joining the Junior Umpire Program. The program is geared toward teens 14 and older who are either compensated with volunteer service hours or pay, depending on the individual’s preference. The program not only allows the teens to interact with the next generation of up-and-coming baseball players, but it also provides junior umpire training to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their duties during the game.
“Parkland Little League creates an environment where kids can not only learn the game but learn how to be part of a team,” Travinski said. “They will learn life lessons about character they can use for the rest of their lives.”
Parkland Little League practices and plays at Pine Trails Park and Terramar Park in Parkland. Practices for the 35th Anniversary season will begin on February 3, 2025, and opening day will take place on March 2, 2025. The regular season is scheduled to run through April, with playoffs starting in May.
