Coral Springs American Little League Prepares for an Epic 54th Season

By Ashley Ferraro

For over five decades, Coral Springs American Little League (CSALL) has been a pillar of the community, instilling a love for baseball while cultivating values like teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship in its young athletes. As the city’s oldest recognized baseball organization, CSALL continues its legacy of enriching the lives of players and families through America’s most timeless tradition.

The 2024 spring season marks the league’s 54th year, and preparations are well underway. Registration has already opened on November 1 and will remain open until January 5. Practices begin February 1, and games will start soon after in early March. All CSALL games and practices will be held at Mullins Park in Coral Springs.

This year, CSALL is adopting new Little League rules that remove boundary restrictions for players aged 4 to 7. Families from Coral Springs, Tamarac, Parkland, Sunrise, and Margate can now register with CSALL, offering enhanced flexibility to families and their young children.

Tony Juliano, CSALL’s president for more than a decade, emphasized the significance of this rule change: “For players 4 to 7 years old, there are no boundary restrictions. This gives families more flexibility to choose the league that best suits their needs. It’s a great opportunity for us to grow our league and welcome more young talent.”

CSALL has a proud tradition of competitive success. The league’s 50/70 All-Star team had an impressive run recently, winning the District 10 and Section 8 championships before becoming runners-up in the Florida State Championship. The team is returning this season with their sights set on advancing to the Junior League World Series. Meanwhile, CSALL’s 8U teams have clinched the District 10 8U Select title for two consecutive seasons, showcasing the league’s strength at every level.

“Our players and volunteers put in tremendous effort, and it’s exciting to see those efforts pay off,” Tony shared. “These accomplishments reflect the dedication of everyone involved in our league.”

Beyond competitive success, CSALL takes pride in fostering a positive, family-friendly environment. With its focus on character building and skill development, the league ensures players of all abilities can enjoy and grow through the sport while forming lifelong friendships along the way.

Tony reflected on the league’s growth and his plans for the future: “We’ve built something special here, and I’m confident in our new board members to carry the torch. We have young, dedicated leadership ready to ensure the league continues to thrive for years to come.”

As CSALL gears up for another memorable season, registration is open for first-time players and experienced athletes alike, with expanded eligibility for younger players due to the new Little League boundary rules.
