From Our First Issue to Our Next Chapter

Some partnerships become part of your history. North Broward Preparatory School is certainly part of ours.

When the very first issue of Spectator Magazine was published in March 2002, North Broward Preparatory School was there, featured proudly on our back cover. At the time, our fledgling publication was printed in (what is known as a three color format) black, white and our signature purple. We had yet to make the leap to the full-color magazine that would eventually become familiar to families throughout our community.

A lot has changed in the nearly 25 years since, both for the Spectator and for North Broward Prep. But one thing has remained remarkably consistent: a shared commitment to celebrating our community and, especially, its young people.

Throughout the years, we have had the privilege of getting to know North Broward Prep families and introducing our readers to many of the school’s exceptionally bright, talented and accomplished students. Whether their achievements have been in academics, athletics, the arts, leadership or service, their stories have consistently given us something worth celebrating.

That is what makes North Broward Preparatory School such an important part of the educational landscape in our community. A strong education is about encouraging curiosity, developing confidence, discovering individual strengths and giving young people the foundation to embrace the opportunities and challenges that await them beyond the classroom.

As the Spectator begins an exciting new chapter with Spectator Digital, it seems especially fitting to recognize one of the partners that was there from the beginning.

Twenty-four and a half years is a long time to grow alongside another local organization. We have watched North Broward Prep evolve, expand and continue to distinguish itself, just as the Spectator has evolved from that early three color format into the publication we are today.

To the administrators, educators, students and families who have welcomed us into their stories over the years, and to North Broward Preparatory School for its longstanding support of  the Spectator, we offer our sincere gratitude.

After their tremendous success and consistent growth, nearly a quarter century later, we are proud to still be telling their stories.
