Join in the Coral Springs Flag Football Club History

Established in 1972, Coral Springs Flag Football and Cheerleading is the longest running league in the City, and is also one of the most popular. Local families enjoy the cacophony of cheers and banter from the sidelines and the fields while creating a tremendous sense of camaraderie. For their first experience on a football field, young athletes truly learn the game of football and the organization of a cheer squad. Players learn every aspect including blocking, running, passing and catching. It encompasses virtually every aspect of football without the tackling and helmets. Given our tropical climate, it’s a lot easier to play full-on without all the pads and other encumbrances. Cheerleaders, beginning at age 4, are given routines that include tumbling and gymnastics, but without flying.

Made up of volunteer coaches and board members, other important aspects of Coral Springs Flag Football and Cheerleading are their famous Cheer Off, All Star Games and Super Bowl. If you haven’t made it to one of these, you must put them on your calendar! Exciting even for someone without a child in the game, the Cheer-Off showcases each squad as they compete for titles within the league. After each turn, the girls are presented with flowers by the players from their corresponding football team. From the littlest to the largest, it’s sweet to see players encourage the girls who put on quite a show to keep the team encouraged and the crowd entertained.

On this league, all of the participants get trophies, high quality uniforms, and memories that they’ll have to reflect on for years to come. Final registration will be held on April 6th.
