Married 24 years ago, Jeff and Sue began their family in Coral Springs starting first with son, Steven, 20, and followed soon after by another boy, Josh, who just turned 19. Jeff, a chiropractor by profession is now a Health Care Practice Management Consultant. Involved in many aspects of their Coral Springs community and its sports, the close knit Lewins added two more boys to the mix with twins Ethan and Garrett, now 13. This active, outgoing family of six moved into Parkland 9 years ago and continues to embody the “family first” way of life. Sue is on the Board of Directors for Parkland Basketball, where she has been a passionate coach. Her profession is as a disabilities benefits manager with an insurance company.
Steven attends Palm Beach College studying Hospitality and serves at a local restaurant. He is a referee for parkland basketball, works at a sleepaway camp in Ocala every summer, and likes the beach and the pool. Josh is studying business at Florida State University and loves the beach and playing volleyball. Ethan and Garrett Ethan are involved in Flag football, basketball and lacrosse. They are in the 8th grade at Westglades Middle School where Ethan enjoys science and Garrett likes peer counseling. Both boys are also involved in their youth group at Temple Beth Am in Margate where the Lewins are members.
The Lewins enjoy a trip every year with the entire family. “There’s no such thing as having four boys and not having adventure,” Sue laughs. The boys’ consensus for favorite trip is a toss-up between a cruise and Tennessee’s Blue Ridge Mountains. Mom and Dad are surprised and decide that their favorite was the Grand Canyon.
Raising four sons has meant a lot of outdoor time. Sue says, “We’ve really enjoyed the sense of community and going out to the parks…seeing all of the families there, enjoying all the recreation…and I really love the Concerts in the Park and other activities!” Jeff says, “It has a nice, small town atmosphere to it.”
