The Goldberg Family

Michael and Tiffany grew up less than a mile apart in Massachusetts, started dating in high school and have been together for over 20 years. They moved into their Coral Springs home on  a weekend that most south Floridians remember well. “Hurricane Wilma welcomed us to our new home with a bang,” says Tiffany. “It was through this natural disaster that we met our new neighbors, quickly bonded and learned how magnificent  the people of Coral Springs were with helping one another cut trees, offering food, and anything else that anyone needed. It’s unbelievable that almost 10 years have swiftly flown by!”

Settling in, they began their family, which has grown to include Evan, 8, Ayla, 5 and Blake, 22 months. Evan is in the 3rd grade and math is his favorite subject. Ayla is in VPK, loves school and enjoys time on the playground with her friends. Always moving, Blake is quick on his feet and keeps his parents on the go! Tiffany says, “If he could speak, he would tell us he adores horses, dogs and his brother and sister.”

Michael is a Vice President with a financial firm where he specializes in working with educators, non-profit organizations,  and municipal employees. Tiffany is the CEO of the Goldberg residence, and worked previously as a family therapist and counselor. She feels that caring for her family has been the most fulfilling and rewarding job of all. “I am blessed to be a stay-at-home-mom and spend these precious moments with my children.”

Evan plays on a basketball team and Dad is his coach. Other fun family activities are swimming, riding bikes and going to local parks and beaches. Evan and Ayla also help Mom with baking and gardening. Tiffany enjoys swimming, horseback riding, tennis and other activities that also include the children. When it’s time for a getaway, the Goldbergs take spontaneous family road trips and bring along their sweet dog, Lulu. Michael says, “These trips often take us to our home town in Massachusetts. We also love water activities such as snorkeling, jet skiing, and trips to the Florida Keys.” They also have fun hosting barbeques with friends and their families.

Advocates on several fronts, Michael & Tiffany stress the importance of better labeling for food products at stores, restaurant safety, and the need for additional research in the area of food allergies, which they note have dramatically increased in the past few decades. They are also supporters of organizations that work with childhood cancers. “It breaks our hearts that children have to fight this horrible illness,” Tiffany says with visible emotion. “It just shouldn’t happen!”

Living in Coral Springs and all of its family amenities is a blessing that Michael and Tiffany can’t say enough about. Although they are die hard New England sports fans and miss their childhood hometown there, they thrive in the year round outdoor activities that south Florida and Coral Springs have to offer. Michael adds,  “It is great not to have to wake up for work on a winter day, shovel the driveway, scrape the ice off the windshield, slip on the ice trying to get into the car, and driving through pot holes. There are many benefits of living in Florida.”

The Goldbergs are parishioners at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Coral Springs.
