Marcela and David, married 17 years, have been settled in Coral Springs for just as long. They are thrilled to be raising their two children, Anthony, 16 and Claudia, 6, in the same community where Marcela grew up. A graduate of Stoneman Douglas High School, Mom is proud that Anthony will have the same High School Alma Mater, where he is currently a sophomore and likes studying World History and Geography. A soccer player since he was four years old, Anthony has recently been dividing his time between that, driving all over the place and working out and training with the Eagles Football Team, where he plans to be playing in the fall.
Claudia, in a multi-age K-1 class at Country Hills Elementary School, is a lot like her mother and prefers art class over the others. A gifted dancer, she is part of her studio’s Dance Company concentrating on Jazz performances. She also loves Tap and Ballet. Marcela works helping in the dance studio as well as volunteering at Country Hills where she coordinates and teaches the Meet the Masters Art Program. A very adept photographer, Marcela enjoys using her talents for family and friends.
David is a managing partner in family-held nutrition and vitamin stores as well as a franchising business that he and his father-in-law have seen great success in.
A close-knit group, the Schulmans enjoy vacationing and free time with their extended families. Marcela says, “We’re almost always on the soccer field or at a dance event, but when we aren’t, we enjoy being with my mom, my dad, my brother, his wife and their kids…it’s a really big family! We always travel and vacation together!”
When asked about the vacationing arrangements, David says, “It’s great! I couldn’t have asked for a better family to marry into! Marcela’s parents are like my parents. I love spending time with them.” Marcela giggles and interjects humorously, “We go everywhere in a pack. We have so much fun with all of us together, and the kids really love their cousins.”
On the rare occasions that David and Marcela get some time out alone, they head to a local restaurant or enjoy some quiet time at the beach or a movie. “We like tranquility,” David shares.
The Schulmans are members of and attend services at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
