The Zajack Family

Relocating to Parkland from their beloved hometown in New England four years ago, Lauren, Michael and their three children are settled into their new neighborhood just fine, thank you! This super-active family of five is in constant motion and almost always outdoors. Their trio of athletic kids, Matthew, 11, Max, 9, and Carly, 8 recently concluded the flag football season and are currently moving on to the Parkland Basketball courts. Michael coaches all of the teams that the kids are on. After basketball, Max will be playing lacrosse and Carly is also involved in gymnastics and dance.

When they aren’t outside riding bikes, fishing on their boat, at the beach or heading to or from a sporting competition, the kids attend school at Heron Heights Elementary where they are in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Matthew’s favorite subject is social studies, Max’s is PE and Carly enjoys Math.

Lauren, a homemaker who has moonlighted as a spin instructor, is happy with the location that she and Michael chose after his job transfer from up north. Friendly, bright and strikingly attractive, Lauren says, “I love the weather, this community and we love how family oriented it is! This is exactly where we wanted to be…it all seems to be centered around parents and their kids.” The epitome of “close knit,” the Zajacks seem to be “all family, all the time,” which is exactly how they want it.

And who doesn’t love the best of both worlds? These New England fans (check the photo) support every professional team from the Patriots to the Red Sox to the Bruins, and return to Marshfield, Massachusetts every summer for two months. Michael, Vice President of Sales for a medical device company, pops back and forth when time allows as Lauren and the kids enjoy the school break with their extended family near Cape Cod.

A true asset to our community, the Zajacks are the perfect Parkland models for the American Dream. Hard work, fun, family values and an appreciation for life’s blessings are all part of the conversation when talking to Michael and Lauren. A close couple, Lauren says, “We love going out with friends, checking out different restaurants, enjoying live music and working out together. We’re also beach bums!”

Some of their other favorite activities are going to the Farmer’s Market, the YMCA and Parkland’s Movies in the Park. “We’ve met a lot of friends through sports and the town’s events,” Lauren shares.

For any busy family, it may be refreshing to know that there are other friends in the neighborhood who have more on their agendas than you. That family is certainly the Zajacks… but how do they make it look SO easy?
