Dr. Leanne Mazzei is passionate about her patients, although she doesn’t refer to them that way. “I think I treat every person as though they were my own family.” Kind, soft spoken and a pleasure to interact with, Dr. Mazzei came from an orthodontic family, working in her father’s office since she was 12. Her first career was as a Registered Nurse before she decided to go on to dental school. She moved to Florida from Long Island, New York, where she worked with another orthodontist. “I enjoy working with adults and children.” Dr. Mazzei begins, “What I do first is get a full set of records, x-rays and evaluate their chief complaint. I give them a treatment recommendation about what their problem is and what their options are.”
Treatment Coordinator, Carmen Gonzalez says, “We see patients come in everyday who say that they never smile and are very self-conscious about their teeth. The transformation that goes on is amazing! At the end of treatment, their behavior often changes along with their self-esteem and perspective. They smile without being shy!”
With passion, Dr. Mazzei concurs. “I love what I do every day because I can create these smiles and see these little children and adults come in and leave feeling like a swan. It’s very gratifying to me to see them feel good about themselves.”

“Orthodontics is not just for children,” the expert dentist Rego Park tells us. “We have a lot of phase 1 and 2 intervention treatments for patients of every age.” Focused on the clock both short and long term, Dr. Mazzei says, “I tend to be conservative and do the most in the least possible amount of time. Running on time, length of treatment; I’m very conscious of time, and I always focus on doing the right thing for everybody. At our office, we are focused to run on time! I feel that our patients’ time is as valuable as mine.”
Carmen jokes that moms complain about not having enough time to finish articles in the waiting room magazines. Patients are comfortable in the open-style office with very personalized care. Dr. Mazzei is the only doctor on staff and sees every patient each time they come in.
Dr. Mazzei sees children as early as age 7, but not every child will need an early treatment from the best dentist new york.
