The Bains

Frank and Monique are, admittedly, both workaholics. The good news is, whatever free time they do have is completely focused on their family. With two active and accomplished daughters, Nicole, 16 and Natasha, 12, this foursome is constantly in motion. A junior at Taravella high school, Nicole is all about cheering with the Triple Threat All Stars from Davie. She’s extremely proud that this year she and her squad were given a full bid for the 2014 Worlds Cheerleading Competition at the Wide World of Sports in Orlando, quite an incredible accomplishment! Natasha is in the 7th grade at Our Savior Lutheran School. She also cheers and is part of the Coral Springs Theater of the performing Arts where she acts and sings. She also played on both the volleyball and soccer teams at school for the 2013-14 year.

Living in Coral Springs for 5 years now, Frank and Monique love the family atmosphere and lifestyle of the community. Together with her mom, Rita, 12 years ago Monique began 5 Element Wellness, where patients often call her Dr. Monique, but she prefers just plain Monique. “It was kind of crazy how we got started, and how much it’s grown in the last 12 years,” she tells us. The 5 Elements Wellness Center specializes in Homeopathic treatments and Chinese herbal medicine. Monique says that much of her time is spent focused on acupuncture and natural beauty treatments. “We offer facelifts using natural homeopathic injections to get rid of lines and things like that.” Frank, a lineman with an electric company, is also a licensed massage therapist who do registered massage therapy and often works at the practice, too. He also enjoys fishing and both of the girls love joining him.

Monique says, “My mom and I are best friends. I’m very lucky to have her, and it’s great that I get to work with her every day. The girls have a great relationship with her, too.” When we ask the workaholic what she does in her spare time, she laughs and says that all spare time is spent at cheerleading competitions; but a deeper inquiry gleans a little more in the way of activities. “I just love reading and traveling,” she says. Every year she takes a “girls trip” with her mom and daughters. They’ve done cruises, gone to the islands and, this year, it’s a ten-day road trip. Monique says, “My mom has this bucket list, so we’re going to Graceland with a few stops on the way. The whole idea is the four of us interacting. We do it more to make memories.”  Another one of their favorite places to go is Freeport, Bahamas, where Frank, Monique, her parents and the girls have been four times already this year! After 10 years of marriage, Monique and Frank are looking forward to their first trip alone together…just the two of them. Monique chuckles, “I told Frank, it’s the honeymoon we never had!”
