Rising Stars

By Adam Miller

Entering our second year as a coaching staff with the Coral Springs Charter School Panthers football team is an exciting time for our program. The young men have been in the weight room since January preparing for spring practice. With a number of returning starters coming back from last fall, the growth of the team and experience has shown to be a true strength in practices thus far. Entering the second year of the Southeastern Football Conference, we look to build off of last years successes and have an even better season, hoping to end with the first championship in school history.

Quarterback Joe McChrystal is entering his fourth and final year at the helm of the offense, and has already received interest from many division 1 collegiate football programs throughout the country. The defense is looking to Senior defensive backs Ross Kuruc, and Denzel Butler, brother of Indianapolis Colts player Darius Buter, to lead them as they battle on Friday nights.  The top rising underclassmen are sophomores, defensive tackle Joshua Paul, who is a member of team USA, and running back Kalen Carson. Both are entering their second year at the varsity level, and are certain to be play makers come this fall. Other players hoping to make their names known this upcoming season are rising seniors; defensive end Ralph Paul, tight end Steven St. Cyr, and offensive linemen Daniel Solano and Jordan Ebanks. Rising juniors are defensive back Garrison Swain, wide receiver Malik Whiters and defensive back Gary Demyer. Rising sophomores are athlete Zach Weber,  wide receiver Calvin Jackson Jr, and offensive lineman Curtis born.

With the strength and ability of these fine young men, together with the experience and unity of our focused coaches, 2013 is sure to be a magic number for the Coral Springs Charter Panthers, on both the gridiron and in each athlete’s personal journey. Come and check us out this fall at the Coral Springs Sportsplex stadium
