Super Achievers!

Every year without fail for as long as most residents can remember, Coral Springs Flag Football has been keeping kids busy both on and off of the field with competitive play, cheer, fundraising and fun. The 2014 season was no different, culminating in its Super Bowl extravaganza on a Saturday night in early November. The league’s three divisions, Freshmen, ages 7-9, Juniors, 10-11 and Seniors, 12-14, pitted their two best teams in each age bracket against each other to award their 2014 Super Bowl Champions.

Families and fans had the sidelines fraught with color and action as the boys and girls prepared to take the field for their ultimate performance of the season. First up, the Freshmen, whose two best teams, the Dolphins and the Packers kept pace with their season records. The Dolphins took the Championship with amazing teamwork and a final score of 8 to 6.

The Junior Division was represented by their two best teams, the Cowboys and Lions, who entered the gridiron with a huge disparity in stats. The Cowboys had a stellar and perfect 16-0 season until an unexpected upset by the underdogs, when the Lions earned the Super Bowl title with a score of 7 to 0.

The 2014 season and the Super Bowl festivities came to an end with a face-off between the Senior Raiders and Saints. Each team entered the contest with the same record of 10 wins, 4 losses and 1 tie. Formidable to the last play, the Raiders edged out their foes with a final score of 10 to 8.

Congratulations to all of the players, cheerleaders and their incredible families! It wouldn’t be an amazing season without everyone’s participation and support. To get involved in next year’s Coral Springs Flag Football tradition, get ready for sign ups and watch the website at www.CSFFC.org
