The Intihar Family

Girls are the rule in this house….that is unless you’re Daddy or the family’s rescue cat, Boomer. “He is convinced he is a dog,” says Eric, father of three daughters and husband to Patty. Patty’s family moved to Coral Springs from Chicago and Eric’s came from Columbus, Ohio when they were both kids. After the magic of courtship and marriage, the couple settled in Parkland 11 years ago to raise a family. The three little ladies they’ve been blessed with took over their parent’s hearts and the household.

Daughters Emily, 8, Katelyn, 6, and Abigail, 3, are adorable, active and always ready for the next item on the family agenda. Emily and Katelyn attend Riverglades Elementary School and are in the 3rd and 1st grades respectively. Emily’s favorite subject is reading and Katelyn’s is math. Little sister Abigail loves doing art in her PK3 class at Mary Help of Christians school.

Eric lovingly refers to Patty as the unpaid CEO of their household, and he has been a residential mortgage planner for more than 17 years. Together, they both enjoy being active classroom and field trip volunteers at Riverglades Elementary School.

All three of the girls are busy with extracurricular activities. Emily and Katelyn both have fun pursuing cheerleading, gymnastics and tennis. Not to be left out of personal pursuits apart from school, Abigail enjoys swimming. With all that shuttling around, it’s a wonder that Eric and Patty have any spare time to do other things, but Eric says, “We always make time to enjoy vacations, family gatherings, going to the beach, swimming, movie nights, amusement parks, the library and watching Florida Gators football games! ‘Family First’ is our simple quote.”

Patty is happy that their family began in Parkland. “This is a wonderful place to raise children,” she says. “There are so many family-friendly activities like the farmers market, bonfires, movies in the park and more.” She goes on to talk about how Parkland is so green and open and their family appreciates the lack of commercial influence. “We are also blessed with wonderful neighbors! We feel very safe in this city.” Eric, Patty, and their daughters enjoy attending services at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church.
